How do you get started with Home Assistant? Fortunately, it is not really that difficult.
Home Assistant can be run on anything from an old laptop, NUC, Raspberry Pi, or for example a Synology NAS.
Home Assistant supports a large number of different installations. Here there are great opportunities for you to use something you already have lying around at home to test home automation.
In the example here, we see how easy it can be to get Home Assistant installed on a Raspberry Pi.
There are two (at least) ways to install Home Assistant if you have a Raspberry Pi.
- You can follow the Home Assistant’s installation instructions.
- You can follow Raspberry’s installation instructions.
If you are somewhat familiar with Raspberry from earlier, but completely unfamiliar with the Home Assistant, so it is recommended to use Raspberry installation
