What is not Christmas without some Christmas lights (which we can automate).
We have made it very easy in terms of the automation of the Christmas lights.
Outdoors we have used Twinkly string Christmas lights. These are connected to the Home Assistant to be able to turn them on and off. Not that this is done, but the opportunity is here.
Furthermore, we have Twinkly Christmas lights on the Christmas tree inside.
Some of the other Christmas lights are also connected to smart sockets, so they can be turned on and off automatically.
For example. when we go to bed for the evening, we put the house in night mode. When the house is in night mode, we turn off some of the Christmas lights inside that are not necessary to wear. In this way, we save both energy and the environment, and it is a small fire prevention measure.
The automation here is very simple.
We turn on the lights in the morning at a specific time each day. In the evening we use a switch that puts the house in night mode. Easily.
