Home Assistant recently announced a new energy feature. Now it is even easier to monitor what uses electricity in your home, and in that way be able to control energy consumption sensibly.
Do you have power from Tibber you can in a very simple way add the data so that Home Assistant gets a total overview!
If you do not have Tibber, you can go to this link https://tibber.com/no/invite/7bd4a5ec to get Tibber as your electricity supplier. Then both you and I get 500, – to buy smart devices for.
The first thing we need to do is enter the information about the power consumption. You do this under “Configuration” -> “Energy”.
Under “Grid consumption”, press “add consumption”.
Then enter “accumulated consumption current hour ..” in the field “consumed energy” Also add “Electricity price” under “use an entity with current price”. Then click on “save”
If you now go back to “Energy”, you will get an overview of your total consumption. Note – it may take a little while before the first data coming into the Home Assistant.
The next thing we can do is install simple devices so that you can see what is actually using electricity in the house. Return to the configuration as described above, and now on the right side, you can add the different devices you want to monitor. Note – not all devices are supported properly yet, this is what Home Assistant is working on.
In the field “Individual devices”, select “add device” and then select which device to monitor in the drop-down list. Note – it can take up to 2 hours for data to enter the Home Assistant.
